About the Event

Auckland Sword and Shield and Auckland Longsword (with massive help from Will Smart) are hosting a one day workshop with top ranked Finnish Longsword fencer Miro Lahtela.


Miro Lahtela is one of the most accomplished active HEMA competitors in the world, currently ranked 3rd globally in Mixed & Men's Steel Longsword with nearly 800 rated bouts in various weapons.


On the mat and in the classroom, he's known for clean mechanics and structured training. His fencing is deeply informed by the sources of early Lichtenauerian longsword tradition and pressure tested by top-tier competition around the globe.
