Auckland Sword and Shield is once again hosting an 7-week beginners course aimed at providing fundamental insight in to the Sport/Martial Art of Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA).  This course will be run by Nic and Chris, They have passions and most of them include steel swords.

This Course will primarily be focused on Side Sword, popular in the Renaissance period and Longsword cause you know Aragon.

 Once you have completed the course, a brief safety grading and you can join the club proper, a number of different weapons will be open to you, ranging from arming sword through to saber, rapiers and various pole arms. The options are (almost) limitless!  

Please note that there may be some breaks in the course due to public holiday weekends.  All our courses and indeed the club itself are run by volunteers; all proceeds go to keeping the club running.
