Auckland Sword and Shield

We are a club based in Auckland, New Zealand, who train in HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts) - the noble art of Sword Fighting. We are not a reenactment group, we study and learn from actual training manuals from between the 12th and 19th centuries, learning to fight with various weapons such as Arming Swords, Side Swords, Longswords, Spear/Polearms, Daggers, Grappling and Pugilism, Sabre, Rapier, Small Sword, and many more. We teach beginners in periodic beginner blocks throughout the year, and once you graduate from our beginner class and join the club, you can train in almost any historical style you want.
